Weimar has its own dance festival with an individual profile and that is a reason to celebrate, but no reason to sit back. in 2012 The International Dancefestival Weimar is presented by the DNT for the second time and designed to show outstanding international productions, including German premieres and insights into the current contemporary dance scene. The focus is on discovering and promoting new talents. The series Emerging Choreographer presents a young choreographer, whose work is brought closer to the audience with additional offers. The program invites the audience to participate. It asks to dance in workshops, to look for the discourse in discussions and to amuse with short films. There is also an exhibition and of course parties!
The varied festival program brings diverse people and generations together in dance. It allows everyone from four years on to experience this art form actively and to find an own access to dance. Look forward to choreographies, that are characterized by a unique artistic style, dancing skills, choreographic capacity and accessibility. Expect surprises and reflect with us artistic and social processes in the context of time-related issues. Let yourself be seduced by the powerful sensuality of dance and touched by emotional density, dynamic and cross-genre choreographies.
