1st INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL WEIMAR

The German National Theater Weimar - State Theater Thuringia presents with the international dancefestival weimar starting in season 2010/11, contemporary dance in a new format. The festival was brought to life by Estefania
Miranda, who gives as curator, the dance at the DNT Weimar a new face and makes it appear more present again.
Seven international productions, three german premieres, workshops, films, talks, an exhibition and parties invite all dance enthusiasts, and
those who want to be one, to an exciting journey through the world of contemporary dance. The series „Emerging Choreographer“ presents the work of young
choreographers: In 2011 it is Pia Meuthen and her company Panama Pictures from the Netherlands.
All invited artists are for the first time in Weimar. They explore aspects of the free will and the freedom of
action – asking what moves ourselves and our fragile body.
