1st INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL WEIMAR

CIA.DANIEL ABREU / SPAIN

PERRO / GERMAN PREMIERE

24th + 25th Mai 2011 / 21.30

Perro, "dog" is the titel of Daniel Abreu´s choreography, which is about contrasts: wild and tamed, belonging and alienation, instinct and training. He faces the challenge of these contradictions on an empty stage. Not in a role, but as a human being, he tells stories of people through them. In these stories he gives, without justification or explanation, space to the inappropriate and inexplicable. It is as the body just there and denies any categorization.

"The precise use of space, silence and darkness combine the carefully crafted scenes that are thoughtful, real, lyrical and cruel."
Roger Salas, El País

Perro was selected for Aerowaves 2009 and for the "Circuito de la Red de Teatros Alternativos". The oeuvre of the Daniel Abreu Company comprises over 30 works.
