Roland Techet completed 1988-1993 studies in piano and 1993-1996 studies in conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. He was 1996-1997 Kapellmeister at Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, where he created two own productions and 1997-2001 conductor and solo repetiteur at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich.
He also produced „ Im weißen Rössl“ for the Chiemgau - Musicfestival and wrote his own arrangements for Schraml, concert band, symphonic orchestra and jazz-ensemble.
2001-2005 he was Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. Here he took over many operas (Tosca, Manon, Norma, Don Giovanni, etc.).
The world premiere of the concerto for flute, percussion, strings, by M. Kagel took place in 2003, in the Ruhr Triennale. As a musical director he worked for two opera productions at the Schloßfestspiele Zwingenberg.
In 2005 he produced with the Orchestra of the National Theatre in Prague, the Ring of the Nibelung and in 2006 Ariadne auf Naxos for the Municipal Theater of Bolzano. He produced "beauty of the shadows" during the Schumann-Heine Year Düsseldorf and wrote an original composition for this purpose. In 2008 he composed music for the Bremen Shakespeare Company.
